“Using Last Seen Ads in the Classroom”

August 1st and 2nd, 2023

Save the date for two upcoming webinars presented by the Hard History Project and our friends at Last Seen.

Last Seen is an archive of stories of families separated in the domestic slave trade. Formerly enslaved people placed these ads hoping to reconnect with family and loved ones for decades following emancipation. The ads serve as testaments to their enduring hope and determination to regain what was taken from them.

Learn how to use these ads in the classroom in this series of two free webinars.

Experts will share practical tips about how to use Last Seen ads to teach the history of slavery in the United States.
